Welcome to the Quake III Arena Character Poll

This poll is for a currently 'in planning' total conversion for Quake III that will be similar in play to the Super Smash games. The currently unnamed TC will contain an assortment of characters that we believe are the best of the best. The following poll is our final collection. There are 60+ characters, so plase be patient when taking this poll. We will not be making all characters, as that would be fucking insane with the team we have. So, this poll will, hopefully, provide an accurate result of which characters you, the gaming public, believe to be the best of the best. The top characters will be made first, and so on and so forth. We are aiming for about 15 characters, but only time will tell. Maybe more, or maybe less.

Moving on to the TC itself. Each character will start VERY basic. One outfit, one or no weapon (depending), and very little accessories. Via single player mode, which will share similarities to such classic platformers as Super Mario Bros 3 and River City Ransom (in map and fighting), you will find new costumes, weapons, and accessories for the character you play. Each character will have one to three weapons (or none, depending), several accessories, and several costumes (again, depending).

Ah, there's an important note. Some characters costumes may be completely different from the original character, but still relating to it. Example, if a character from a TV show or something has other main characters that share similarities between eachother (eg, they're all the same species, share similar physical traits) then the characters secret costumes MAY BE the other characters from the show. So take that into consideration when voting, but don't go extreme. Example, an Aeris (FFVII) secret costume will not be Cloud (FFVII), that's just too far.

The actual fighting will not be as advanced as SSB or SSBM, but will instead be more like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, in the sense of a health bar, and punch/kick/block/jump/special/combos. Battle will be melee though, supporting various numbers of players. We also hope to implement a 'hotseat' mode, for those of you with fancy systems hooked up to a TV and feel like some good old console style gaming with a friend or two, or three.

Only time will tell. Yes we realize the workload, but this is fun to us. Even if we don't finish, at least we'll enjoy ourselves :-).
